Miniature anthuriums are a compact variety of the tropical flowering plant Anthurium. They typically grow to around 6-12 inches in height and have smaller leaves and flowers compared to standard Anthuriums.
1. Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
3. Humidity: Miniature Anthuriums prefer high humidity. You can increase humidity by placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water or by using a room humidifier.
4. Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm environment with temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
5. Soil: Use well-draining, aerated potting soil. A mix of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark works well.
6. Fertilizing: Feed your miniature Anthurium with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
7. Pruning: Remove any yellow or damaged leaves promptly to encourage new growth. You can also trim back any leggy stems to maintain a compact shape.
8. Repotting: Repot your miniature Anthurium every 1-2 years, or when it outgrows its current pot. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one
