The Hollyhock (Alcea rosea) is a tall, biennial or perennial plant known for its impressive height, often reaching 6 to 8 feet tall. It features large, showy flowers that come in a range of colors, including pink, red, purple, yellow, and white. The flowers grow along a tall central stem and have a distinctive hollyhock shape, with petals arranged in a circular pattern. Hollyhocks prefer full sun and well-drained soil and are commonly used in cottage gardens and borders for their beauty and vertical interest.
